Up on the Farm Program

Up on the Farm is a day program created especially for differently-abled adults in the community so that they may participate in farm-related activities on Mulberry Lane Farm. The program is managed entirely by volunteers and funded by a non-profit charitable organization, the Upside of Downs (501c3 – tax ID 38-3375526) and private donors. Although there is no fee to participate in the day program at the farm, each special farmer must be accompanied by and work/hang out with/be side by side with a responsible adult (job coach, caregiver, parent, etc.).

The two-fold mission of the “Up on the Farm” day program operated by the Upside of Downs is:

1. To provide hands-on, hearts-in, life-on-a-farm experiences for special needs adults in the community;

2. To celebrate everyone’s God-given gifts while experiencing life on a little farm on a mountainside - celebrating everything from spontaneous hula dance moves while exploring the banana and palm tree groves to bicep-flexing demonstrations while carrying the mango basket up the hill! All share gifts here! All make a difference here!
